Liposuction

Liposuction also called lipoplasty, lipectomy, or lipolysis is a
type of cosmetic surgery that removes fat from specific areas of the body and
sucks it out.
It is often used for the abdomen, thighs, hips, neck, chin, back of the body,
upper and back of the arms, as some areas of the body such as the hip, thigh,
abdomen, and arms tend to store and collect fat.
Fats get out of the body and under the skin through a hollow device called the
cannula. It goes under the skin and sucks subcutaneous fat with powerful,
high-pressure suction into the cannula.

Liposuction is Suitable for whom?

Those who are considered to be suitable candidates are those who
are close to their ideal weight but still have disproportionate reserves of fat
in different parts of their body. Just as these fat reserves no longer respond
to exercise and diets and do not change, liposuction can help and benefit most.

The best candidates for this procedure are non-smoker men and
women who are generally relatively healthy and have good prospects and
expectations for the procedure.

Also, the ideal candidate for liposuction is someone with higher skin elasticity, this patient will naturally have a lower risk of skin loss.
Besides, if a person has lost significant weight before surgery, liposuction
may only worsen skin problems. So it cannot be said with certainty that this
operation is suitable for everyone.

Facts about Liposuction:

Certainly Liposuction cannot remove the
extra 25kg you’ve added over 10 years. The amount of fat removed during a
typical liposuction operation is between half to 5 kilograms.

Surgery is usually performed under
general anesthesia.

Liposuction is not a method for weight
loss, but a cosmetic procedure with precise effects. The goal is to reshape the
body, and the results are generally long-lasting if you can keep your weight
within the healthy range. This operation is suitable for those who are of normal
weight and whose skin is more elongated.

Risks to the operation include
infection, bruising, and scars.

Liposuction is also used to treat
certain medical conditions.

What
is Liposuction?

Liposuction
is an elective procedure that involves removing subcutaneous fat. This decision
is made when the underlying fats are unevenly distributed to a specific area of
the body such as the armpit or thighs.

People
undergoing liposuction surgery typically has a stable weight but tend to lose
undesirable fats in certain parts of their body.

Liposuction
is not a weight-loss method for the whole body or a cure for obesity and will
not be able to kill cellulite. The purpose of this method is cosmetic and is
suitable for those who wish to change and improve their body cholesterol.
Although you may lose some weight after surgery, the main purpose is to reshape
and redefine lines that do not respond well to diet and exercise.

Liposuction temporarily removes fat cells from the body and
corrects the shape of the body. However, if the patient does not follow a
healthy lifestyle after surgery, there is a risk that the remaining fat cells
will grow and grow.

The amount of fat that can be safely removed from the body is
limited. There are risks such as infection, numbness, or permanent scars. If
too much fat gets out of the body, it may have effects on the skin, such as
bumps or ripples. The surgical risks are directly related to the amount of fat
removed from the body.

Benefits
of Liposuction

Liposuction is usually done for beauty purposes, but it is also used to treat special conditions, too.

Lymphedema

The long-term condition, in which a fluid called the lymph, accumulates too much in the tissues that swell and inflate that area of the body. Swelling or swelling usually occurs in the arms or legs. Liposuction is sometimes used to relieve swelling, discomfort, and pain.

Severe
weight loss after obesity

A person
who is overly obese and worrisome needs treatment to eliminate excess skin and
other abnormal conditions if they lose at least 40% of their BMI.

Lipomas

The tumors are fat and benign.

Risks and side effects of Liposuction

Like any
other surgery, there are possible complications, and risks that you should be
aware of before surgery:

Any
major surgery carries the risk of bleeding, infection or incompatibility with
anesthesia. It also has bruising and pains immediately, which makes the patient
uncomfortable. The complications of this risk are usually related to the extent
and severity of the operation as it relates to the skills and training of the
surgeon.

Multiple
bruises

These
bruises can take several weeks.

Swelling

It may
take up to 6 months for the swelling or inflammation to subside in the body.

Numbness

The part
of the body that has undergone surgery may become numb for a while and is
usually temporary.

Infection

A skin
infection may occur after liposuction surgery. Occasionally, treatment or
surgery may need to be performed, with the risk being that the wound may remain
permanently.

Perforation
of internal organs

Perforation
of internal parts of the body during liposuction is very rare.

Pulmonary
edema

Sometimes
fluid injected into the body accumulates in the lungs.

Allergic
reaction (allergy)

The
patient may be allergic to the drugs and substances used during surgery.

Skin
burns

Canola
movement can cause allergies and burns to the skin or nerves of the body.

Liver
and heart problems

Death

Anesthesia
during surgery has a very low risk of death.

Obstruction
of the bloodstream in the lungs

It is
possible for fat to enter the blood vessels, which may enter the lungs and stop
the circulation. This is a life-threatening process.

If the
patient feels pain in his chest or shortsightedness, abnormal heart rate or
excessive post-operative bleeding, the patient should contact his surgeon
immediately.

 Liposuction
surgery Satisfaction:

Patients
are most satisfied with their surgery, considering the consequences before and
after the operation and being well informed about what to expect. Also,
choosing an experienced, professional surgeon and consulting all the details
with your treating physician on this route is not without effect.

Duration
of recovery

The
recovery time varies depending on the amount of fat removed from the body and
the location of the surgery. The recovery time varies from days to hours, but
the pain may continue for several weeks.

Recovery
and healing

It
usually takes about two weeks for a complete recovery. Postoperative swelling
and bruising are significant. Therefore, liposuction results cannot be judged
for at least one to three months. While most bruises from
liposuction surgery disappear within 2 to 4 weeks, some of the residual
swellings may take up to six months to completely resolve. After about a week,
the sutures are removed (unless the sutures are absorbed).

Liposuction
costs

The
total cost of liposuction varies depending on the size and number of surgical
areas, as well as the specific techniques used during surgery. The costs of the
surgeon, anesthesia, facilities, laboratory, medication, etc. are often added
to the costs.

Most
women are looking for liposuction as the ultimate solution to balance their
body (most want abdominal fat or breast lift). In any case, patients who use
lipomatics to reduce their abdominal fat, since they often have loose skin, may
also undergo skin elongation or breast lift.

Before
surgery

Before
undergoing liposuction surgery, you need to think carefully about your decision
and its complications. There is no guarantee of results, and you should consult
your doctor before surgery.

The
surgeon carefully examines the patient and performs pre-operative tests to
confirm the health status. The patient’s health history is also on the agenda,
including height, weight, patient records, and family history.

The
surgeon may give the patient certain medications to take for two weeks before
surgery. These drugs can be anti-inflammatory or herbal supplements

Before
surgery, the surgeon marks the patient’s body, and before and after photographs
may be taken of the patient.

During
the operation

When
preparing for surgery, the patient’s body is fully monitored for heart rate,
blood pressure, and blood oxygen level. Liposuction is usually performed under
general anesthesia, which may also include epidural anesthesia for lower
liposuction. In some specific cases, this is also done under local anesthesia.
Liposuction may be a combination of topical anesthesia and intravenous
sedatives. The choice of the type of anesthesia is made only at the discretion
of the surgeon.

A cut of
three or four inches in length is made by the surgeon on the skin. This
incision is made in a way that will later be well hidden between wrinkles of
the body. For surgery on larger areas, the incisions may also be slightly
larger.

The fat
is sucked into the cannula (hollow metal tubes), which pass through the same
cuts under the skin. The cannulas move forward and backward with controlled
movements to loosen the fat. Then suck all the fat on the surface through the
tubes and discharge into a special container.

Small
incisions are closed by surgical sutures, and in some cases, small tubes are
left at the incision site to help drain excess fluid under the skin.

After
the operation

After
surgery, the patient is transferred to recovery to control pain and swelling in
the treated areas. It is very likely that the patient will not need to stay in
the hospital and will be discharged after a few hours. Of course, this decision
is entirely up to the physician. If you leave the hospital and go home, you
must arrange for the patient to be alone for 24 hours.

The
patient will not be able to drive for several days. Most patients can only
perform non-heavy tasks, such as desk work and light work, after only 2-3 days.

If a
small area was treated, the patient can return to work within a few days, but
if a large area of the body is surgically removed, it may take up to 10 days
for recovery.

Depending
on the extent of the operation and the level of treatment areas, hard work or
exercise should not be resumed for at least 2 to 3 weeks. Like all surgeries,
the understanding that these guidelines depend on the patient’s health and the
techniques used and other variables surrounding surgery may be very different.

However,
it should be noted that during the recovery period, the incisions are not
pressurized, and any abrasions or movements that cause severe pain should be
reported to the physician.
According to your doctor, you can use medical belts that help reduce bruising
and swelling. These lesions should be worn continuously for several weeks after
surgery.
Liposuction incisions are usually very small, usually fading over time to be
virtually invisible. The result of liposuction surgery is an image of a
balanced, smooth body.
The patient may need to take antibiotics immediately after surgery to reduce
the risk of infection. Most people also use mild painkillers to relieve pain
and swelling.

Hair transplantation

One of the benefits of a human being is having a good, well-groomed appearance. As you know, hair is one of the most important elements in a person’s appearance. Sometimes there are conditions that limit this advantage and one of the factors is hair loss or baldness. Due to the importance of maintaining the appearance, medical science has progressed to this problem with the help of a method called hair transplantation.

Hair transplantation is a permanent
alternative to hair restoration in a bald area using surgical techniques. In a
hair transplant, the secretory hair follicles are transferred from the
hair-resistant area to the hair-thinning area. Also, hair loss treatment can be
used to treat hair growth problems on breasts, eyelashes, and foreheads. In
this article, we attempted to provide a comprehensive and useful explanation of
hair transplant methods and their
advantages and disadvantages. So if you or those around you want to get
acquainted with a hair transplant, join us in this article.

What is a hair transplantation?

Hair transplantation is a general treatment
that is done to stay young or rejuvenate. There are various types of hair
transplant procedures available today. Let’s review these three different types
and choose the right hair transplant. Hair loss is a normal and natural process
that one has experienced at least once in a lifetime. The disease is caused by
several factors such as family history, aging, hormonal changes and so on.
There are several medical procedures to reverse hair loss, the most commonly
known method being hair transplant surgery. Such surgery is performed by
plastic surgeons and is an effective tool in hair regeneration.

How is a hair transplantation done?

Hair transplantation is a procedure where your
existing hair, usually on the back of the head, is transferred to the head
area. The doctor will normally move your hair from one side or back to the
front of the top of the head. Some hair transplant procedures available through
surgery. There are several types of transplant surgery methods, one of which is
FUSS surgery and the other is FUE extraction, but there are other methods.

Types of hair transplantation procedures

A) The FLAP method

FLAP method is a type of hair transplant that
is better than other methods because it covers many areas faster on the skin.
Using this technique, the scalp-bald area is surgically cut and then a healthy
hair extension and attachment to the area where the scalp is removed, although
this may result in injuries. yet most parts of the skin are covered with
healthy hair. Therefore, it is a good opportunity for the wound to be covered
with hair. It should be noted that this method also has some disadvantages such
as an abnormal appearance, necrosis or dead tissue, and scarring on the skin.

B) The Graft method

This procedure is performed after the
recipient has undergone local anesthesia. The transplantation process involves
removing part of the scalp and dipping thousands of hair strands into the
scalp. These strands are maintained injected during intermittent sessions. When
the transplant is complete, part of the scalp that has healthy hair attached to
it is surgically restored and given time to heal itself. Several sessions of
this treatment to obtain hair may be necessary for the scalp to fully recover.

C) The Tissue expansion

Tissue expansion involves the balloon
inserting like a tissue extender in the head area that has healthy hair. Within
a few weeks, the tissue expander fills with saline to activate tissue expansion
and expansion, thereby allowing tissue expansion as long as it has enough
stretch. It can be easily bonded.

D) FUSS Unit Tape Surgery

In the process, the surgeon removes 6 inches
of skin from your back, removes the ribbon and closes the scalp. This area will
be hidden by the surrounding hair. Each one is split into tiny grafts with one
hair or just a few cuttings. It depends entirely on your hair type, color and
size of the area where you get this link.

E) FUE method

In the FUE method, the hair on your back will
be corrected. The surgeon will then remove one of the secretory hair follicles.
This area is treated with small dots that your existing hair will cover. Then
the secretory bags of hair are transferred to the scalp section, which is bald
or thin and needs hair. After surgery you may feel a lot of pain in the scalp,
pain medications are prescribed. Your scalp should be bandaged for two days and
you can return to your daily routine within 5 days after surgery. The
transplanted hair will shrink after 2 weeks and you will see new hair growth
within a few months.

Advantages and disadvantages of using hair transplants

Advantages

One of the biggest benefits of this surgery
is that the person acquires a change in aesthetics. Not only does it give you a
younger look but it also raises your confidence. The goal of any hair
transplant surgery is to ensure that the results are natural-looking. Surgeons
are equipped to determine the most effective angles, location, and distribution
of secretory hair bags. Grown hair combines seamlessly with your healthy hair,
giving you a very natural and beautiful appearance. An important benefit is
that after the recovery time, new hair does not need special treatment. When
the hair combines with other natural hair, you can style it to your desire and
cut it shorter and lighter. There are no restrictions on using the type of hair
care products like shampoo, conditioner, gel, etc.

Disadvantages

One of the major problems of hair transplant
surgery is that it disturbs patients. While doing the hair transplant, you can
do it at a good clinic or any other prominent center, and make sure you don’t
have any difficulties.

To fully recover from surgery, one must be
very careful after the operation and have enough focus and consideration, otherwise
unattended during the recovery period can increase the risk of infection,
bleeding, Wound and numb. It is recommended that people who decide to have hair
transplant surgery should carefully understand its benefits and disadvantages
as well as its potential risks.

After hair transplantation

In addition to having enough information
about hair transplant procedures as well as finding a specialist, there are
some post-operative tips patients need to know because adhering to them can
speed up recovery.

1. The operation and hair transplant phase
takes about 4-8 hours. Although you can do your normal work after the surgery
and the day after surgery, rest for about 3 to 5 days after surgery to get
better.

2. Because of the injections of sedatives and
painkillers, you need to bring one person with you on the day of surgery to
accompany you home when you are discharged.

3. In the first few days after surgery
due to the presence of dried blood in the places where the hair is transplanted
try not to show your hair to anyone, as it will induce bad feelings in the
surroundings and the possibility that they will be judged improperly.

4. The first few days after planting When you
sleep and lay your head on the pillow Be careful not to touch the hair
follicles with the pillow head. If your hair loss is abnormal, tell your doctor
immediately.

Important: Try not to sweat your head as this
may cause infection at the transplant site.

5. Avoid washing your hair in the first few
days after your hair transplant.

6. Using a hat or scarf will damage the
follicles as well as slow down the healing process.

7. Do not be exposed to direct sunlight as
possible after surgery. This will damage the hair grafts as well as prolong the
healing process.

8. After your doctor has authorized washing
your hair, gently wash your hair with mild soap and water to prevent a possible
infection from sweating.

Finally, in the process of hair transplantation, it is important
to take care of it until the result. In the first few days after implantation,
the hair strands are adjusting to their new location. So a whole new place
should be kept clean. You should rinse your entire head with shampoo for 5 days
after implantation. Cleansing the surrounding skin is important because it
helps to grow new hair. After implantation, it may swell or be red around the

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Lift)

Eyes are one of the most important components of facial
beauty that is overshadowed by the process of aging and the development of
eyelid disorders.

Blepharoplasty plays an important role in restoring beauty
and skin rejuvenation.

In the past, physicians focused primarily on functional
operations and few surgeons performed cosmetic surgeries.

This trend has gradually changed over the years. Today most
plastic surgeons perform operations related to ophthalmic surgeries such as
blepharoplasty. They specialize in this field.

Blepharoplasty or eyelid lift is a type of surgery that is
used to remove excess skin and fat in the eyelids. It is mostly used to
rejuvenate or improve vision.

This surgery is mostly done for cosmetic reasons and is an
effective way to improve the eyesight of older people. Blepharoplasty surgery
improves the patient’s appearance and classifies as cosmetic surgery. It will
also greatly enhance the patient’s confidence.

CAUSES OF EYELID DROPPING

There is fat around the human’s eyes to protect them from
trauma. The presence of this fat reduces stroke. It is a natural fat and does
not increase or decrease with changing in the diet.

Like other parts of the body, the skin around the eyes loses
its elasticity with aging.

These changes are more related to genetics and age. However,
by doing some behaviors like smoking, dieting and sun exposure it can get
better or worse.

With age, the eyelids
are stretched and excess fat accumulates below the upper and lower eyelids. The
accumulation of this fat causes eyebrows dropping and forming ugly bags under
the eyes.

Who are the right candidates for this operation?

The best candidates for this surgery are those who have no
problem with their overall health and have realistic expectations. Those who
have a positive and realistic attitude to their surgery will also get better
results.

Age is ultimately not the case for this surgery, but it is
generally better for people over 35 years of age. If the eyelid drooping and
puffiness of the eyelid is hereditary, the patient may decide to have surgery
sooner.

This surgery will greatly improve the appearance of the face
and eyes. However, the patient may not achieve his/her ideal appearance. The
patient should consult with the specialist before surgery. The physician must
consider the type of genetics and lifestyle of the patient before surgery.

If you have one of the following statement, you can be a
good candidate for blepharoplasty:

• A puffy upper eyelid that makes the face look tired or sad

• Bags of fat under the skin

• Excess skin that can impair vision

The patient may also require other procedures such as
eyebrow lift, facial lift or skin rejuvenation. These surgeries take place at
the same time as they work together. These operations are performed
simultaneously.

Preoperative evaluations

The physician should discuss the patient’s goals and
expectations. He should examine the eye thoroughly and also precisely measure
the periocular area of the eye.

The patient will also
be photographed to determine the medical necessity before and after the eyelid
surgery. The patient needs to know what to expect from the procedure and to
consider all the benefits and disadvantages before surgery. You can find out if
the procedure is appropriate for you, with the help and advice of your doctor.

Consult a plastic surgeon and an ophthalmologist before
definitive planning for blepharoplasty surgery. Preoperative dry eye symptoms
should be considered, as they are directly related to postoperative complications.
Medical examinations should consider the position of the eyebrow, upper and
lower eyelids, and nose to achieve a natural result.

The specialist will examine the patient’s medical history.
He should ask about previous surgeries and past conditions or conditions such
as dry eye, glaucoma, allergies, circulatory problems, thyroid problems, and
diabetes.

The specialist physician should thoroughly study the
patient’s medical history. He will also ask about previous surgeries and past
or present conditions such as dry eye, glaucoma, allergies, circulatory
problems, thyroid problems, and diabetes. Your doctor will also ask about using
medications, vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol, and tobacco.

Preoperative Preparation

Be sure to ask a friend or family member to be with you
during the operation and drive home after the procedure. You also need someone
to spend the night with to help you if you need anything.

If you smoke, quit smoking a few weeks before surgery.
Postoperative smoking reduces the ability of your body immune to recover.

Topical anesthesia

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty is usually performed under
topical anesthesia. The patient may be not unconscious and will be able to work
with his or her physician during the operation.

Duration of blepharoplasty

Normally this procedure takes 30 minutes, and the patient
does not feel any pain or discomfort. The operation of the lower eyelid is
similar to the upper eyelid, but due to the larger area, the operation time is
slightly longer.

If both upper and lower eyelids are done together, it
usually takes about two hours.

During surgery

The surgeon usually cuts along the natural lines of the
eyelid. The incision lines for the eyelid surgery cut in such a way that the
resulting wound will be hidden in the natural structures of the eyelid.

Through these incisions, the surgeon separates the skin from
the underlying tissue and removes excess fat and skin. Then the surgeon closes
the cuts with very small stitches. The sutures in the upper part should remain
for three to six days.

After surgery

Eyelid lift reduces dark circles and wrinkles under the
eyes. The patient will go home after surgery and does not need to be
hospitalized. Use ice packs on the
eyelid for the first 48 hours after surgery. Antibiotic ointment should be
applied to sutures up to 3 to 4 times daily.

The patient does not have bruising or swelling immediately
after the operation. He/she will see bruising under the eyes and swelling
around the eyelids in the first 48 hours after returning home, which is not a
concern.

After 48 hours, the bruises and swelling gradually decrease
and in 2 weeks after surgery, the swelling is eliminated.

Be prepared to stay home for a few days for complete
recovery and limit your activity. Some people will get Dry eye for up to two
weeks after surgery. If it takes more than two weeks, you should contact your
doctor.

Patients will not have significant pain during the recovery
process, and after a few days, all activities will resume.

Please check the following at home:

• Ice packs (Use medical ice packs) Be careful not to put
ice directly on the wound and be sure to place it around the suture.

• Use sterilized gas

• Artificial eye drops or tears (be sure to ask your doctor
the specific type that is best for you)

• Sterilized napkins and towels

• Painkiller (with specialist doctor’s advice)

• Do not use Advil, Motrin, Naproxen, Aleve and Aspirin due
to increased risk of bleeding

• Keep eyelids clean and use ointments

• Avoid lifting heavy objects and swimming for a week

• Avoid strenuous activities such as aerobics and heavy
exercise for a week

• Avoid smoking

• Avoid rubbing your eyes

• Avoid using medical and color lenses for up to two weeks

• Use dark sunglasses to protect the skin of the eyelids
against sun and wind

Only use medications approved by your surgeon.

After the eyelid surgery, both sides of your eyelid will be
sutured, and remaining for up to a week. There is usually swelling and
sometimes bruising, but your eyelids should look perfectly normal within a week
or two. The sutures’ place will also disappear after a while.

Possible side effects of eyelid surgery:

Complications and side effects from eye lift are rare, but
sometimes they happen to the patient. These side effects can include:

• Bleeding

• Infection

• Abnormal color of the eyelids

• Dry eye

• Abnormal skin folds on the eyelids

• Difficulty closing your eyes or other eyelid problems

• Loss of vision

• Significant scarring

• Need for the second surgery

If any of these complications occur, contact your doctor as
soon as possible.

Postoperative results

Falling eyelids and eyebrows make the patient looks older.
In some cases, this dropping eyelid affects the eye and reduces the patient’s
lateral vision.
Blepharoplasty can reduce or eliminate these vision problems. Eventually, the
patient will have younger and more alert eyes.

Permanent results of surgery

Results of upper eyelid surgery will last about 5 to 7
years. But lower eyelid surgery rarely needs to be repeated. If after a while
the patient feels that he/she needs to be re-operated, eyebrow lift surgery may
be the better option instead of the eyelid surgery again. For some people,
eyelid drooping may recur again.

Insurance

Health insurance companies usually do not cover cosmetic
surgeries.
Insurance only covers this surgery when surgery is performed to impair vision.
If your vision test confirms this, your insurance company can cover it.

In cases where the eyelid drop becomes so severe
that you lose some of your vision, the insurance covers the cost of
blepharoplasty. But if you decide to have this surgery just to improve your
appearance, insurance doesn’t cover the cost. Blepharoplasty is performed in
approximately 90% of cases for cosmetic reasons.
